The gunman who shutdown the Discovery Channel's headquarters actually spoke with an NBC News producer on the phone during the hostage crisis. 'Today' correspondent Tom Costello examines the bizarre 10-minute phone call between gunman James Lee and NBC's Rob Rivas. "As word of the hostage situation spread, an NBC producer called the Discovery Channel's general number," Costello reports, "Suddenly Lee himself picked up the phone."

"No one has been shot," Lee told Rivas, who then asked if Lee was armed. "I have a gun and I have a bomb. I have several bombs strapped to my body ready to go off," Lee replied. Four hours into the standoff, Lee was killed by sharpshooters after reportedly threatening his hostages. "He wanted to have his story told," Rivas tells anchor Matt Lauer. Rivas then explains that his goal was "to get information and keep him on the line."
