Nine-year-old Anaiah Rucker is being hailed a hero after shielding her younger sister from an oncoming truck on their way to school. 'Morning Express' chronicles the tale of sisterly love and self-sacrifice. "Anaiah and her sister Camry were walking across the street to catch a school bus. It was raining," explains a CNN correspondent. "She looked both ways again and thought the coast was clear." In an interview, Anaiah's mother tearfully explains, "I seen my daughter kinda snatch my 5-year-old back and if it wasn't for that ... I don't think she would have made it."
A pickup truck hit both girls, but Anaiah took the brunt of the force, suffering a broken neck and damaged spleen and losing a leg in the accident. As the 9-year-old hero breaks down crying, overcome with grief, her mother consoles her, "It's okay... your sister's alive because you saved her."
