A peculiar photo from the Vancouver riots has become an instant classic as viewers marvel at one couple's surprisingly romantic kiss, smack in the middle of the post-Stanley Cup destruction. 'Today' anchor Ann Curry talks with Scott Jones and Alex Thomas about the story behind the now historic smooch. "In the middle of the mayhem, as thousands rioted in the streets following Vancouver's loss in the Stanley Cup Finals ... clashing with police and torching cars," Curry reports, "it is this image of the so-called 'riot Romeo' kissing his girlfriend that is capturing worldwide attention."

The photo features Jones and Thomas in a pose that recalls the famous kiss from 'From Here to Eternity.' However, this embrace wasn't staged. Overhead footage shows the couple being run down by riot police. "Alex was knocked to the ground. A moment later, Scott lies beside her, comforting his girlfriend with a kiss," Curry narrates.
