In this clip, a new teaching method called "Perceptual Learning" focuses on a student's gut reactions and doesn't penalize them for incorrect answers. 'Early Show' correspondent Terry McCarthy examines this revolutionary new style of learning. Footage shows students staring at computer screens as McCarthy explains, "For decades, the three R's -- reading, writing and arithmetic -- were taught through memorization and repetition. This new method is all about tapping into a student's gut instincts." The program is fast-paced and intensely visual, often focusing on the problems themselves rather than their solutions.

"You study people who are really good at things, always the first thing that jumps out is: These people are picking up information differently," explains UCLA psychologist Philip Kellman. His method is based on the idea that the brain registers patterns subconsciously before the student realizes they're learning. "Like, I don't feel like kicking the computer," says one student. "I just keep going."
